Power and Authority

This month we learned that as Jesus and his disciples went to the other side of the lake, there were many needs to be met.  We are still a needy people.  Our world is full of hurting people.  Do you realize that we are Christ's disciples today, given the same power and authority as the diciples back then to minister in his name?  We need to ask ourselves, how am I doing in my mission?

If you missed our time together as a group this month, you really did (miss out that is!)  We had such a fun time sharing God's word and discussing what he has taught us.  The lecture on the Mount of Transfiguration was inspiring.

I want to leave you with five questions from our lesson from Week 5.  I pray they will prompt you to do some heart searching and continue to draw closer to the one who gives the power and authority--Jesus, the One and Only.
  1. Day 1 - Are you "living in the tombs" (void of life and God's presence) or are you experiencing the abundant life God came to give you?
  2. Day 2 - Though there are other needs that may seem greater, what is a need in your life and do you believe that Jesus has enough power to care for the greater need and your need as well?
  3. Day 3 - How are you fulfilling your calling by God?  Are you staying in touch with Him to know if he is redirecting your mission or calling a field trip as Beth said?
  4. Day 4 - What is your spiritual, emotional or physical need and are you "thinking bigger" about how He can meet that need?
  5. Day 5 - Are you a chip off the ol' Block and how are you following Him?
Let's keep in mind Dr. Luke's prescription for a successful life which is also our memory verse for this month:  "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)

Following with you,
Dianne
